Half day today as i claimed my OT, as well as half way through my attachment period. It's been quite an experience so far trying to handle all the attention that has been given to the scholars. I realised that all the scholars faced smilar problems.
We came into Tangs as scholars, naturally it would be human for the rest of the staff at Tangs to be threathen that we are here to steal their ricebowl & gain promotion faster then them. True to an extend, but it's the working world and the strongest survive. But i guess they did not know that our promotion would actually be the same as them. My objective here is to help improve the service standards, promotion is secondary.
Giving away comissions has been a problem for my two other scholar friends, not so much for me as the staff in my department has got pretty good sales themselves. As attachment students, we do not have any comissions so it was only natural for us to give our comission away. But somehow people kinda abuse us and just because we are new they wanna eat us.
That abuse kinda made my friend break down, it's really sad as they just bully her because she's new. If someone tried to do that to me, let's just say that i would be no pushover and i would not let anyone bully me. The working world is like that all newbies get eaten alive.

you've always been able to make everything seem right. you will be able to help the bullied and teach those bullies not to do it anymore. you've always been that nice. =)
I really like newbies around as they are prob easier to influence then the old birds. Old birds has got a certain way of working, not that it's bad all the time but when you try teaching them, they think you are too new to know anything. i really wish that i could make everything seem right, but it's difficult to influence the rest at my position now but all i could do is just to make my customers happy. =)
Hi, just visiting your site...I'm curious...because I'm from the US, I don't really understand the work culture in Singapore. What is the difference between someone such as you (scholar), and the others?
Let's just say that the higher management pay closer attention to me then the others. There are actually more detailed career paths for us compared to the rest & we get quite alot of dialogue sessions with the higher management =)
